The Diocese of Cleveland was subject to the annual audit for 2018 by an agent from StoneBridge Business Partners, the independent agency employed by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. The audit reviews all measures, matters, and programs instituted by the diocese in order to be in compliance with the national “Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.”
For the 13th consecutive time, the diocese has been deemed in compliance with the requirements with the charter.
“I am thankful to all those throughout the diocese, including our faithful priests and deacons, our religious sisters and brothers, our lay ecclesial ministers, campus ministers, our teachers and catechists, administrators, employees and volunteers and all those who have worked so hard to ensure the safety of our children,” says Bishop Perez.
Each diocese in the United States is audited annually to assure compliance, every three years the audit is performed on-site.
