died, March 14, 2009, at Alden Courts Nursing Home, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments. 

Louis J. Capek was born on August 6, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Louis graduated from St. Procop High School in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1936.  Louis was employed as Office Manager and Purchasing Agent for Formweld Products Company from 1940 until is retirement in 1986.

Louis married Agnes Walker (deceased February 2008) on November 29, 1947.  Their marriage brought them five children and fourteen grandchildren.

Lui was ordained to the diaconate on June 19, 1979 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Cleveland, Ohio, by the Most Reverend James A. Hickey.  Following his ordination, he was assigned to St. Joan of Arc Parish in Chagrin Falls.  At the parish he exercised a full liturgical ministry including preaching, baptizing and witnessing marriages.  He was also involved in the visitation of the sick in nursing homes and area hospitals as well as visiting the sick and shut-ins of the parish in their homes.  He continued to minister until 2006 when health issues prevented him from exercising his diaconal ministry.  Louis also served on the Diocesan Vocation Council and as Chaplain for the Southeast Serra Club.
