The Reverend Mr. Louis M. Centric
Permanent Deacon, Queen of Heaven, Green

died Friday, May 14 at his home after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.  Reverend Mr. Centric had cancer.


Louis M. Centric was born on January 31, 1953 to Louis and Irene Centric in Youngstown, Ohio. Lou graduated from Windham High School, Windham, Ohio in 1971. He was self­employed as a rubber consultant.

 

Louis married Nancy Miller on July 30, 1977 in St. Helen Church, Newbury, Ohio. marriage brought to them six children.

 

Louis was ordained to the diaconate on January 3, 1998 by The Most Reverend Thomas Tobin for the Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio. He was assigned to Queen of Heaven Parish, Green, Ohio, Diocese of Cleveland on October 28, 2000, remaining incardinated in the Diocese of Youngstown. At Queen of Heaven Parish Lou exercised a full diaconal ministry. Because of his love for scripture, he conducted a Bible study. He also directed the PSR Program, grades K thru 8, conducted the server training, involved in sacramental preparation, and took Eucharist to nursing homes and the shut-ins of the parish. In addition., he assisted at weekly liturgy and preached.
