2018 Lay Ministry Convocation Follow-up

Work of the Holy Spirit

Thank you to all who attended the 2018 Lay Ecclesial Ministry Convocation!
There was a great spirit with over 200 participants gathered at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in May to continue to deepen our faith and practice of living as missionary disciples through a collaborative effort of the Lay Ecclesial Ministry Office, Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office and CYO, Office of Catechetical Formation and Education and the Evangelization Office.
Throughout the day there was prayer and inspirational talks bringing the spirit and formation from the USCCB’s Joy of the Gospel Convocation  to the Diocese of Cleveland.  In the afternoon, breakout sessions focused on the follow up resource from the USCCB’s Committee on Catechesis and Evangelization, Living as Missionary Disciples, providing engaging discussions with peers  working in similar ministries on how to bring this missionary experience to life in their own lives and in their respective parishes, schools and organizations.

The delegation was present at this meeting and a group of panelists shared their joyful witnesses:

Claude David, Teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School (west) and Evangelization Director for Young Catholic Professionals:

What’s Next?

Living as Missionary Disciples

In addition Terrie Baldwin, Director of the Office of Evangelization shared some ideas to ponder on the newest document from the USCCB Committee on Catechesis and Evangelization, Living as Missionary Disciples.  Living as a missionary disciple comes from one’s own personal way of living, the privilege we hold as baptized members of the church and it looks at how we share this spirit in each of our ministries.
