Inviting All People to Salvation

“To invite all people in the United States, whatever their social or cultural background, to hear the message of salvation in Jesus Christ so they may come to join us in the fullness of the Catholic faith.”

Below are some ideas on how to welcome and invite people to hear the good news of salvation.

Welcome Pew Cards

Below are some examples of Pew Card samples, some created by parishes to welcome newcomers and visitors to their church:

Welcoming Lists of Parishioners

A nice way to follow up and create a warm welcome for new parishioners is by including their names in a newsletter or parish bulletin.  Here are examples of how this could be done:

Prayer cards provide a source of warmth and welcome in many environments.  Prayer cards can be used in a a variety of ways including (but not limited to) in pews, distribtuted and prayed at parish group meetings, to new parishioners, at community events, etc.  Below are examples of prayer card ideas:

Welcome Booklets

A welcome booklet including a directory of names of parishioners is an easy way to share basic information about all a parish has to offer.  Click below to see examples.

St. Julie Billiart – This booklet uses card stock for the cover and standard copy paper inside.  It’s finished size is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 folded) and stapled in the center.  This PDF is a sampling of the inside.  The parish directory (which has not been included in the PDF) is the last 16 pages.

St. Ambrose – This parish report is an overview of the year, ministries, memoriums and new parishioners with a welcoming spirit.  It is produced in an 8 1/2 x 11 sized magazine.
