Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine, the major publication of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, is the recipient of a national Gabriel Award from the Catholic Academy of Communications Professionals for an internet video promoting the magazine’s cover story from its September/October 2016 issue. The video highlighted the Paydo family of Sacred Heart Parish in Wadsworth, and their work as a foster family. The Paydos raised four biological children and fostered more than 90 children in nearly two decades as foster parents. Read the story HERE.
The video was produced as a companion piece for the cover story and appeared on the diocesan website. It can be viewed HERE.
The award will be presented on June 22 at the 52nd annual Gabriel Award celebration at the Catholic Media Conference in Quebec City, Canada.
In announcing the 2017 Gabriel Award winners, the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals recognizes contemporary messengers of God’s Good News in our media culture. With these awards, Gabriel’s horn sounds once again to recognize the best in artistic, creative and inspirational media presentations. It also trumpets this good news: the Catholic Academy Gabriel Awards continue to exert a positive effect on the radio, television and film industry.
The Gabriel Awards were created in 1965 to recognize outstanding artistic achievement in a television or radio programming which entertains and enriches with a true vision of humanity and a true vision of life.
Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine is the marquee publication of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. A full-color, bi-monthly publication of faith and inspiration, Northeast Ohio Catholic is mailed to more than 240,000 households in eight Northeast Ohio counties.
The Paydo video was produced with the help of Omori Media LLC., in Rocky River.
