Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Aug 18 at Regina Health Center, 5232 Broadview Road, Richfield, for Father Michael P. Noreika, SSS. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the vigil at 10:20.
Father Mike, 84, died on Aug. 13 – two days after his birthday — at Regina.
He was described as joyous about his Eucharistic life. Father Mike had an infectious laugh that showed his warm and kind disposition.
A native of Wisconsin, he was a teacher for four years in the minor seminary of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Father Mike joined the Blessed Sacrament congregation and continued to serve as a teacher of math and coach of many sports.
He professed religious vows on Aug. 22, 1966, studied at the Pontifical Beda College in Rome. He was ordained a priest on Aug. 15, 1970.
Following ordination, he returned to teach in Waupaca and at St. Mary High School, Menasha, Wisconsin. He served as parochial vicar and superior at St. Charles Borromeo, Albuquerque, New Mexico, then returned to St. Mary, Menasha to be pastor and superior. He was pastor of Notre Dame de Chicago and after a sabbatical year, he returned to St. Mary Menasha as parochial vicar and superior. Later, he served as pastor of St. Martin de Porres, Taylorsville, Utah and then for the third time, he returned to assist at St. Mary, Menasha.
For 15 years, Father Mike was the chaplain and spiritual director of St. Ann Shrine, located at Saint Paschal Baylon in Highland Heights. In 2013, he moved to Regina Health Center.

Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
