The Reverend Monsignor Leo Telesz, Retired Pastor, Saint Casimir Parish, Cleveland died Wednesday, 27 March 2013, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.
Leo Telesz was born on 6 April 1917. His parents were the late Joseph and Bronislawa (Szarek). He was educated in Brzozow, Poland. Monsignor Telesz completed his studies for the priesthood in the Diocese of Przemysl, Poland and was ordained on 10 September 1939. On 30 September 1948, he was accepted into the Diocese of Cleveland by Bishop Edward F. Hoban for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland. On 25 June 1973, Bishop Clarence G. Issenmann acknowledged his incardination into the Diocese of Cleveland.
Monsignor Telesz’s first assignment was Assistant at Transfiguration, Cleveland. On 19 May 1950 he was transferred to Saint Casimir, Cleveland to serve as Assistant Pastor. Monsignor Telesz was assigned Assistant Pastor of Nativity of the Blesssed Virgin Mary, Lorain on 15 May 1951. On 16 March 1956 he was appointed Assistant Pastor at Saint Hyacinth, Cleveland. Monsignor Telesz was appointed Assistant Pastor of Saint John Cantius, Cleveland on 15 June 1967. He was transferred on 2 October 1968 to serve as Assistant Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus, Cleveland. On 17 June 1970 Monsignor Telesz was transferred to Saint Adalbert, Berea to serve as Assistant Pastor. On 25 July 1970 he was transferred to serve Saint Casimir, Cleveland as Associate Pastor. On 5 July 1973 Monsignor Telesz was appointed Pastor of Saint Casimir, Cleveland. On 27 September 1988 Monsignor Telesz was named Prelate of Honor with the title Reverend Monsignor. He retired on 13 November 2009.

James Quinn on Tuesday 2 April in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, East Ninth Street and Superior Avenue, NE, Cleveland at 3:00 p.m. The wake will continue until 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 3 April in the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Roger Gries will be the main celebrant and Fatrher Eric Orzech will be the homilist. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
