"The FIRST date reserved on our calendar!" - The FEST - August 8 in Wickliffe

fireworks

The Kovach family has been a part of the FEST, the free Catholic family summer FESTival, since its earliest days.  As volunteers and participants, Jerry, Kareen and their 5 kids have engaged fully in an event that has touched the lives of over 164,000 people in the ten years of its existence.

Jerry Kovach, a father of 5 remarked, "For our family, the FEST is the FIRST date reserved on our calendar during the summer.  I think it helps our family see another side of church.   A party with the Lord- how cool is that!?"  He sees the event as a way to instill and strengthen positive Catholic values while still being fun and open to all.

Kareen Kovach, loves “to volunteer with my family because by helping to put together the pieces during the week, we get to see how our hands, along with the hands of MANY others, produces such an AWESOME EVENT.”  In the act of volunteering, whether it’s working in the Kid’s Activity Area or putting up conduit the in the days leading up to the FEST, Kareen has found a way to strengthen the bonds of family while creating something that is truly pleasing to God.

Justin Kovach, a 10 year old has literally been “raised on the FEST.”  When reflecting back on his favorite FEST memories, Justin said "I like the games and activity stations.. and OH YEAH, the Mass!”  Even at such a young age, Justin recognizes the power and goodness of God in a day that is designed to be exciting and accessible to people of all ages.

Held on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe, Ohio, the FEST has something for everyone.  Whether it’s games and activities, the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill, or the amazing fireworks display by American Fireworks, there’s so much to do for free!  Bring your family and join the Kovachs THIS SUNDAY, August 8 for a day of faith and family unlike any other.
