

St. Mary School’s kindergarten class in Elyria, under the guidance of their teacher Mrs. Nancy Knuff and teacher aide Mrs. Rhonda Kloock, made tie blankets for the labor and delivery floor at University Hospital. The nurses disperse the blankets to families with newborns. This is one of our community projects the kindergarten class participates in each year.

Each year the audit for compliance with the Charter for the Protection and Youth covers the period from July to June. Each diocese participates in the audit conducted through the USCCB. Every three years, that audit is conducted on site and The Diocese of Cleveland will have an onsite audit this year.

The National Association for Lay Ministry (NALM) will be holding its 37th annual conference at Harrah’s in Las Vegas May 30 – June 1, 2013. Reflecting the Year of Faith and the lessons of Vatican II, the conference looks at the role of laity in enriching the Church through creative dialogue, renewal and collegiality. The conference, open to anyone with an interest in Lay Ministry in the Church, includes keynote speakers, breakout sessions, exhibitors, and a wonderful opportunity to share community and ideas.
