Faith and Culture is a historical event of the Office of Hispanic Ministry in conjunction with the seven parishes with Hispanic Ministry in the Diocese of Cleveland. Every year, in the Month of Hispanic Heritage, we celebrate our presence and journey of all our brothers and sisters who have preceded us through these lands leaving this legacy, where God has transplanted us from our home countries to make us His people and to bear fruits of love.
This is a great opportunity for us as Hispanics to celebrate our history and what we are: our richness of our faith and our culture. For eighteen years now, we have been celebrated our achievements and our challenges as a pilgrim people of God. At the same time we want to share our cultural richness with other cultures among us to seek unity as one people of God.
This year, Faith and Culture’s theme will be “Encounter with Jesus In the Year of Mercy.” (Celebrating our Cultural Diversity) as a preamble in the preparation for the “V National Encuentro for Hispanic Ministry that will have its initiation in Lent 2017. Faith and Culture will take place on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Center for Pastoral Leadership located at 28700 Euclid Avenue Wickliffe, Ohio 44092. Bishop Gries will be our main celebrant and Rev. Joseph H. Callahan will be our guest homilist. After the Liturgy, we will continue our traditional celebration with Latin-American food and folkloric dances.
