Vision Statement

The Office for Women in Church and Society listens to the existing and emerging needs of the women of the diocese.  We respond through our commitment to social and ecclesial justice within the diocese, working to shape a vision:

  • Where the invisible are seen and the voiceless are heard;
  • Where diversity and difference are welcomed and valued as essential elements of unity, integrity and wholeness;
  • Where the experiences of women are recognized, honored and valued;
  • Where the gifts and talents of women are acknowledged, respected and welcomed;
  • Where the needs of women – mind, body and spirit – are met;
  • Where women’s hunger for the sacred is satisfied by a church which embraces them and gives them life;
  • Where structures are transformed and women empowered to claim their just and rightful place through partnership, leadership and an active role in decision making.
