Policy Regarding
Use of Children's Information (COPPA)
1.
Currently the Diocese does not collect personal information from children under the age of 13
(name, home/e-mail address, phone number). Should
it do so for any reason at any time in the future, the Diocese shall:
(a)
Post the privacy policy on the home page and at each area where
information is collected from children
(b)
Shall not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably
necessary to participate in an activity
(c)
Shall get verifiable parental consent to collect personal information
(d)
Shall get new consent when information practices materially change
(e)
Shall allow parents to review personal information collected from their
children
(f)
Shall allow parents to revoke consent, and delete information collected from
their children at the parent’s request
(g) Shall
post a privacy policy that complies with COPPA including:
(i)
name and contact information of the operator of the site
(ii)
the kinds of personal information collected
(iii)
whether and to whom the operator discloses the children’s personal
information
2.
The Diocese will not post or distribute personally identifiable information of children
under 18 years (photo, name, address, phone number, e-mail address) without
prior written parental permission -- create Parental Consent form.
3. Said
prior written parental permission should be sought using the Authorization and
Release form (attached hereto).
