With the Cleveland Indians in the hunt for a post-season run, Progressive Field was filled with heavenly harmonies as the seminary choir performed the national anthem before the Wednesday, Sept. 21 game. Men from both seminaries, Borromeo and St. Mary, comprise the 20-person ensemble.
The choir provides a way for the men in formation to use their musical talent to glorify God. The choir supplies music at the seminary’s Sunday Mass as well at various events throughout the year. Their signature event is “Advent Lessons and Carols,” a collection of reflections and sacred music, this year scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4. In addition, the seminary choir joins with the choir from John Carroll University to perform the Sunday before Palm Sunday in John Carroll University’s St. Francis Chapel. The choir is directed by Dr. Ed Kazcuk, professor of liturgical-sacramental theology.
Coincidentally, the Tribe won the game and is within a couple games of clinching a playoff berth.
