Mark your calendar for Nov. 28, which is the second #weGiveCatholic, Northeast Ohio’s Catholic day of online giving. More than 165 parishes, Catholic schools, Catholic Charities sites/programs and other Catholic nonprofits will participate in the 24-hour fundraising initiative. The event is in conjunction with Giving Tuesday, which is a global day of giving.
Excitement is building among participating groups as the event draws closer. There are contests with cash prizes that will aid the winners’ fundraising efforts. Electronic billboards will be popping up around town as #weGiveCatholic draws near to help raise awareness of the event.
Catholic radio station AM 1260 The Rock will be running promotional announcements and many of the participating groups will offer information about their special fundraising projects on their websites or through social media.
Last year’s inaugural #weGiveCatholic event raised $414,199 for 157 participating organizations. The goal is to raise awareness for the good works of Catholic organizations in Northeast Ohio, while raising much-needed funds.
