Overview

The Office for Worship assists the Bishop in his role as Chief Steward of the mysteries of God and the overseer, promoter, and guardian of the liturgical life.

The Office for Worship is responsible for the formation and preparation of liturgical ministers; educational programming concerning implementation of sacramental and other Rites of the Church; overseeing sacramental preparation through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults [RCIA], including implementation in parishes as well as continuing formation of parish ministers and RCIA teams; preparation of major diocesan liturgies; specifying diocesan standards and best practices regarding music for worship; providing resources and guidelines for sacred space, including overseeing the implementation of Built of Living Stones in the building and renovation of churches and chapels; moderating the work of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission; serving as a resource for parishes and other diocesan institutions on liturgical matters.
