Eucharistic Revival Art Contest

The Diocese of Cleveland invites our Catholic Schools, Parish Catechetical Programs, Youth Ministry, and Homeschool Communities to participate in an art contest during the Parish Year of the Eucharistic Revival!

About the Contest

"I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." (John 6:35)

Jesus comes to us in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist, promising that we who partake of it will be eternally satisfied. He is the Bread of Life, the food of our salvation.

The theme, "Eucharist: Bread of Life," has been the subject of countless paintings, mosaics, tapestries, and stained glass windows throughout the history of the Church. Now, in the 21st century, we invite our young people to participate in that rich history!

  • The Contest is open to all Catholic Schools, Parish Catechetical Programs, and Homeschool Communities in the Diocese. The contest is directed for students in grades 2-12. To engage our younger students, we suggest utilizing the coloring and activity pages found on our Resources Page.
  • Most mediums of visual art will be accepted. These include, but are not necessarily limited to: paintings; drawings; photography; and digital art. Please note that submissions must be scanned, so we recommend that pieces neither be too large or bulky.
  • A maximum of three (3) works per grade for each school or program will be accepted. We invite you to use your discretion for selecting pieces from the classroom.
  • All works should reflect, in some way, the theme Eucharist: Bread of Life. Teachers may expand upon this theme appropriately, and students should feel free to be creative in their interpretation.

Select students whose work is of exceptional talent and artistry will be invited to a special Mass and award ceremony with Bishop Malesic on March 6, 2024!
