Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is a Catholic, comprehensive college-preparatory school rooted in the Ursuline and Marianist traditions and committed to the spiritual, academic and personal growth of each student.


VASJ is a Catholic high school guided in faith by the dual charisms of the Ursuline Sisters and Marianist Brothers; the only school in the world that is co-sponsored by the two orders, making up the unique identity of the school.


Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is seeking candidates for a Science Teacher. The individual will serve as a full-time teacher in our Catholic High School. Candidates must be able to teach Physical or Life Sciences. An Integrated Science Teaching license is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in rigorous planning and implementation, background in a diverse school environment, effective integration of technology, and the ability to equitably assess all students. Other job responsibilities include but are not limited to communicating with parents and colleagues in a professional manner, participation in faculty or committee meetings, participation in school retreats, and supervising students in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Instruct students in Science for different grade levels and at various achievement levels
  • Instill student enthusiasm for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Maintain up-to-date lesson plans; develop rubrics for projects and other class activities; and implement the provided curriculum with fidelity
  • Prepare engaging lessons and units that promote skills, knowledge, and critical thinking consistent with course outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with staff for the good of students and the school.
  • Create an atmosphere in which students feel safe and welcomed.
  • Communicate regular feedback about student progress; maintain open and timely communication with parents.
  • Stay current with classroom technology applications and regularly incorporate them into lesson plans.
  • Actively supervise students at all times

Job Requirements:

  • Teaching license or approved non-tax license (Integrated Science Teaching license is preferred)
  • Able to pass FBI/BCI background check
  • Strong background in teaching pedagogy
  • Experience teaching high school students in research and analysis
