Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, February 14 from 12:00am - 8:00pm
Lent is the six-week period prior to the celebration of Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2024).
While not a holy day of obligation, many Catholics begin the Lenten season by attending Mass and receiving ashes on their foreheads. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops released "Why Ashes?" to aid one's understanding of this practice. Click here to access the resource.
