Priest Retreat 2026: Meeting Christ in the Sacraments

The Sacraments are where we meet Christ and where Christ meets each of us. This will be a time for us to reflect on our sacramental ministry—how it has nurtured and challenged us and our communities.
A member of the Society of Jesus, Reverend Joseph Weiss was born and raised in Omaha, NE. He has served as associate Pastor at parishes in Lexington, MA and Pine Ridge, South Dakota, Omaha, Nebraska, and Mishawaka, Indiana. He has been a consultant for liturgical renovation projects throughout the mid-west. In 1994 he was appointed liturgical consultant to the NCCB commission on liturgical inculturation for Native Americans. Rev. Weiss served as chair of the Worship Commission of Omaha Archdiocese. He is a member of Societas Liturgica and the North American Academy of Liturgy. He has served as a professor in the Theology Department at the University of Notre Dame, a pastor outside Minneapolis/St. Paul. He is presently on the faculty of Boston College as a professor of the Practice of Liturgy. Rev. Joe Weiss has written on pastoral issues in the area of liturgy, spirituality, and sacramental theology. Fr. Weiss has an MDiv, Weston; MA, Notre Dame; PhD, Notre Dame 1993.
