The Review Board for the Diocese of Cleveland has an opening for an individual trained in dispute resolution and/or administrative law.
The Review Board is an independent eleven-person consultative board charged with providing advice to the Bishop of Cleveland as to all aspects of sexual abuse of minors, including prevention. The fundamental requirements for review board membership are that members must be of outstanding integrity and good judgment and who are in full communion with the Church. The majority are to be lay persons who are not in the employ of the diocese.
Board members are expected to attend monthly Board meetings, review all information and reports related to allegations on a timely and thorough basis and perform services on one or more committees of the Board. The responsibilities of membership require self-motivation and a commitment of time outside of scheduled meeting times.
Interested individuals are encouraged to review the diocesan Policy for the Safety of Children in Matters of Sexual Abuse: Revised, 2007 which can be found at www.dioceseofcleveland.org through the link "Child Protection" and then "Documents and Policies." If you are then interested in applying, please review and complete the attached guidance and application. Applications must be received by October 25, 2010.
