News of the Diocese

July 5, 2018

Mrs. Molly Bullock has been named Special Education Coordinator for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. This new position will oversee all facets of special education, building the capacity of Catholic schools to provide inclusive education for far more students than ever before. Bullock will assume responsibility for direction of the ?Better Together? initiative, a pilot cohort of 46 schools deeply immersed in increasing inclusion. Funded in part by proceeds from last year?s Alleluia Ball and other donations, this position will also support professional learning and capacity building for all schools in the diocese. The Special Education Coordinator is a member of the school leadership team, which leads and supports all schools in the diocese in providing authentically Catholic, academically excellent education for students and their families.

Bullock comes to the position with more than two decades of experience in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings working with individuals of all ages and their families who experience physical and developmental challenges. Since 2007 she has served as a teacher and intervention specialist at Julie Billiart School in Lyndhurst, Ohio, a Catholic school specializing in student special needs. There she successfully utilized a team approach to work with fellow teachers, therapists, support staff and families to provide for students? individual student needs to bring about individual growth. She holds a bachelor?s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master?s degree in education from Notre Dame College.

?Molly is a collaborator who has successfully led for inclusive learning at the school level, and I am thrilled to have her joining us to take that expertise to scale throughout the diocese,? said Dr. Frank W. O?Linn, Interim Secretary for Catechetical Formation and Education, and Interim Superintendent of Schools for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. ?Her deep faith and belief in the potential of every child is evident in her commitment to ensuring the success of all of her students in a welcoming, Catholic environment.?

?All children have the desire and ability to learn. The ways in which learning happens vary greatly. I am delighted to be chosen to work in partnership with our schools towards creating more inclusive places of learning for everyone,? Bullock said.
