Today is a day of fasting and abstinence from meat. It is a day of mourning the death of Jesus, who was crucified for our sins.
From the cross, Jesus said, “I thirst.” He thirsts for our faith. He thirsts for our love. He thirsts for our souls.
Since Jesus has done so much for us by hanging on that cross, we should be willing to quench his thirst by given ourselves to him, who gave himself for us.
