A royal official walked about 20 miles to ask Jesus to come back to his home where his son lay dying. Jesus denied the request to travel back with him. He would not personally touch the child with his healing hands. Instead, Jesus said, “You may go; your son will live.”
And “(the) man believed what Jesus said to him and left.”
What great faith!
We sometimes plan how Jesus will heal us. We soon learn that Jesus does not require our plans to work great things among us.
What does Jesus require? Faith.
Our request for miracles from God are not always answered in the way we want. Our prayers are answered how God wants. But nothing great happens without faith. Faith is required to see a miracle as the work of God. And faith is required when God says “No” to us. No matter what, in faith, we place everything in the hands of God, who knows better than us how to bring about our good.
