The wake for Deacon David J. Lundeen will begin with vespers at 3 p.m. March 21 in St. Mark Church, 15800 Montrose Ave., Cleveland. Bishop Edward Malesic will preside and Deacon Jim Armstrong will be the homilist. The wake will continue until 7 p.m.
Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost will celebrate Deacon Lundeen’s funeral Mass at 11 a.m. March 22 in St. Mark Church. Father Adam Zajac, St. Mark pastor, will be the homilist.
Deacon Lundeen, 75, died on March 13. Survivors include his wife Marian (Gurchensky), children and grandchildren.
He was ordained to the permanent diaconate for service to the Diocese of Cleveland on May 23, 1992 by Bishop Anthony Pilla in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
After ordination, he was assigned to serve Corpus Christi Parish in Cleveland. On Nov. 15, 2009, he was assigned to St. Mark Parish. During this assignment, he also served as a member of the diocesan Clergy Personnel Board 2019-2024.
Those who knew him said Deacon Lundeen would be remembered for his kindness and meeting people where they were at, sharing his faith and converting hearts to Christ. They said his selfless giving, dedication to family and ministry touched many over the years.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
