As part of its celebration of Catholic Schools Week, the students at St. Aloysius School in Cleveland had an opportunity to visit St. Aloysius-St. Agatha Church one class at a time for an up-close look at the various parts of the church.
Sister Mary Jean Raymond, OSU parish life coordinator, said students were encouraged to ask questions as they learned about the confessionals, the tabernacle, the sacred oils, statues and much more inside the church.
“It was so successful, they are already asking for another chance to visit and explore,” she said.
The school mission is “to provide a student-centered education, rooted in Christian values, that fosters academic excellence.” Sister Raymond said the school integrates Catholic faith and family values into its daily instruction. The school serves children of all religions, cultures, races and economic backgrounds.
St. Aloysius, located in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood, has an enrollment of more than 220 students in grades Pre-K to 8 with a student-teacher ratio of 18:1. The motto for this school year is “On a Journey to Excellence.”
