Aligned with all state curricular standards, preschool curriculum is designed to meet and exceed the academic standards of the State of Ohio, while emphasizing the Catholic mission and philosophy of each preschool.
The Diocese of Cleveland’s preschool curriculum is aligned to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards which describe key concepts and skills that young children develop during the birth-to-five-year period.
Such standards include language and literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, in addition to religion.
Though religion is a separate and distinct class in our preschools, Catholic teachings permeate all areas of preschool life.
By prioritizing play-based education experiences, these standards are intended to support the cognitive, creative, social/emotional, physical development, and well-being of young children.
