Position Overview Assumption Academy seeks a dedicated and faith-filled 6th Grade Teacher responsible for providing engaging instruction in Math, Science, and Religion. The teacher will support students’ academic growth while fostering a structured, faith-centered classroom environment consistent with the mission and values of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective lessons in Math, Science, and Religion aligned with grade-level standards. Foster a structured, nurturing, and faith-centered classroom environment. Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support curriculum development and school initiatives. Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences into instruction when appropriate. Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, and the broader life of the Catholic school community.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Valid Ohio teaching license (or ability to obtain). VIRTUS training required (or willingness to obtain). Commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education. Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills. Experience teaching at the elementary or middle school level is preferred.
