PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Administrative Assistant to the Office of the Principal and Attendance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing daily student attendance procedures while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and reporting. This role is also charged with streamlining attendance processes, auditing current practices, and making recommendations for improvement. In addition, the Administrative Assistant provides direct support to the Principal and Associate Principal by preparing internal and state reports, assisting with daily operations, assisting with daily communication with families, coordinating meetings, and providing support the overall effectiveness of the school’s administrative team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Attendance Management ● Oversee and manage daily student attendance processes and reporting. ● Audit attendance procedures regularly and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy. ● Ensure compliance with state and school attendance policies. ● Train staff members on attendance procedures, systems, and updates. ● Maintain accurate and timely attendance records. ● Generate and distribute monthly attendance reports to the Office of Student Affairs. ● Communicate with the Office of Student Affairs and other stakeholders about students with attendance concerns. ● Monitor attendance trends and provide insights to the administration for proactive student support. Administrative Support to the Principals ● Prepare required internal and state reports on behalf of the Principal’s office. ● Assist the Principal and Associate Principal with daily school operations and scheduling. ● Coordinate and book meetings, events, and appointments for the Principal and Associate Principal. ● Help streamline communication from the administration to faculty, students, and families. ● Draft, proofread, and distribute correspondence, announcements, and other communications as directed. ● Maintain organized filing systems, records, and databases for the Principal’s office. ● Support the planning and execution of special projects, initiatives, and events coordinated through the Principal’s office. ● Serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for families, staff, and visitors. General Expectations ● Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with school policies and regulations. ● Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all responsibilities. ● Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote the school’s mission. ● Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or Associate Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS: ● Bachelor Degree preferred ● Experience in school administrative work preferred ● Strong organizational skills. ● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. ● Strong motivational skills. Physical Demands ● Work in standard office and/or school building. ● Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. ● Regular use of fingers and hands. Travel required ● Travel to school buildings, work assignments, and meetings as required.
