Aftercare Monitor: Notre Dame Elementary

Job Title: Aftercare Monitor (Hourly) Location: Notre Dame Elementary School – Chardon, OH Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Status: Part-Time, Hourly Notre Dame Elementary School is seeking a caring, responsible, and reliable Aftercare Monitor to supervise and engage students in our after-school program. This individual will ensure a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for students in grades Pre-K through 8 during aftercare hours.

Key Responsibilities: Supervise students in a safe and caring environment from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on school days. Lead and monitor age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities. Provide homework assistance as needed. Maintain discipline and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Assist with check-in/check-out procedures. Maintain a clean and organized aftercare space. Report any concerns regarding students or program operations to the appropriate staff or administration.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred. Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable. Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible. Ability to manage groups of children in a positive and constructive manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must pass background checks, Virtus trained, and meet state requirements for working with children.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to actively engage with children, including sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, and light physical activity (e.g., outdoor play supervision).
