Position Overview Saint Christopher School is seeking a faith-filled, mission-driven Assistant Principal & Preschool Director to serve as a key member of the school leadership team. This dual-role position supports the Principal in the academic, spiritual, and operational leadership of a Preschool through Grade 8 Catholic school, with direct oversight of the Preschool program. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who values Catholic identity, child development, instructional excellence, and strong family partnerships. Key Responsibilities Assistant Principal (Preschool–Grade 8) • Support the Principal in the daily administration of the school • Promote and model Catholic identity, Gospel values, and the teachings of the Church • Assist with student discipline and behavior support using restorative and developmentally appropriate practices • Support teachers through classroom observations, feedback, and instructional coaching • Collaborate on curriculum alignment, assessment practices, and school improvement initiatives • Assist with faculty meetings, professional development, and staff supervision • Support school safety plans, emergency procedures, and student supervision • Serve as a liaison to families, addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion • Participate in admissions, enrollment, and retention efforts • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Principal ________________________________________
Preschool Director • Provide instructional and operational leadership for the Preschool program • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and diocesan preschool policies • Maintain accurate licensing documentation, staff files, and program records • Supervise, evaluate, and support preschool teachers and aides • Foster developmentally appropriate, play-based, and faith-integrated learning experiences • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young learners • Partner with families through communication, conferences, and community-building events • Collaborate with the Principal to ensure alignment between preschool and K–8 programs • Oversee preschool scheduling, enrollment, and daily operations • Support smooth transitions from preschool to kindergarten ________________________________________
Qualifications • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to Catholic education • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Early Childhood Education, Administration, or a related field • Valid state teaching and/or administrative license • Experience in early childhood education • Leadership or administrative experience in a school setting preferred • Knowledge of child development, instructional best practices, and behavior support systems • Strong technology skills • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills • Ability to lead with professionalism, warmth, and integrity ________________________________________
