PRIMARY PURPOSE: To lead the Athletic Program in accordance with the mission of St. Vincent - St. Mary High School, A Catholic School in the Marianist tradition. This is a non-coaching role that is responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating the school’s athletic activities and sports programs to promote athletics and physical fitness as positive extracurricular activities, and to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to participate and share in the benefits of the school’s athletic programs, with a commitment to faith formation, character development, family spirit, and servant leadership consistent with the Marianist tradition.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience • Master’s Degree in Education Administration, Athletic Administration, or Sports Management • Professional Certifications — NIAAA (Registered Athletic Administrator, Certified Athletic Administrator, or Certified Master Athletic Administrator) • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or directing school athletic programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience • Current CPR/AED Certification (required), Virtus Certification (or willingness to obtain) • This is a non-coaching position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Proven leadership experience in environments with accomplished, high-performing staff, with the ability to align diverse perspectives and professional viewpoints toward shared program goals. • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, including Title IX, OHSAA rules, and school safety and health standards • Knowledge of OHSAA rules and regulations • Knowledge of NIL rules and regulations • Ability to organize multiple tasks and manage conflicting time constraints • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across the STVM community • Supervisory and performance evaluation experience preferred • Experience with fundraising, sponsorship development, and community partnership preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Mission & Catholic Identity • Actively support, model, and advance the Catholic and Marianist mission of STVM through all aspects of the athletic program Program Leadership & Administration • Supervises athletic programs in coordination with the Principal and President, recommending policies and procedures relating to athletic programs • Analyzes and evaluates existing programs and equipment to ensure they serve students’ best interests, meet applicable laws, and ensure participant safety • Serves as the school representative and liaison to the OHSAA, Booster Club, league officials, and other sports-related organizations • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Title IX, OHSAA rules, and school policies • Develops and executes a strategic vision for the athletic program aligned with STVM’s Marianist mission and long-term institutional goals Coaching Staff Management • Leads recruitment, screening, selection, supervision, and annual evaluation of all coaches • Serves as a resource and mentor to coaches, cultivating a culture of servant leadership, professional development, and excellence • Ensures all coaches and volunteers maintain appropriate sports medicine, CPR, and AED training • Mediates disputes between athletes, coaches, and parents with fairness and respect for the dignity of all parties • Works collaboratively with coaches to align their programs with STVM’s athletic philosophy and mission Student Development, Eligibility & Participation • Analyzes student participation to maximize opportunities for all students and promote equity in program development and operations. • Determines all aspects of student-athlete eligibility and communicates status clearly to students and parents • Coordinates the tracking of physical examinations for all athletic participants • Establishes criteria and eligibility requirements for athletic awards and recognition programs • Supports the holistic development of student-athletes as scholars, people of faith, and citizens consistent with STVM’s mission to educate the whole person • Facilitates sportsmanship and leadership development programs for student-athletes Facilities, Scheduling & Event Management • Supervises school athletic facilities and oversees all scheduling of practices and athletic events for 19 varsity sports. • Collaborates with the academic leadership team to ensure that scheduling of games and practices is coordinated with school events and activities. • Coordinates ancillary event activities, including but not limited to marching band performances, press boxes, half-time programs, police coverage, ticket sales, concessions, medical care, and custodial services • Coordinates the selection and compensation of sports officials/referees for on-site events • Coordinates transportation schedules and ensures safe, cost-effective travel for all off-site events • Establishes and administers community pass programs for athletic events Budget, Finance & Resource Management • Supervises and coordinates the school budget and finances for all sports programs and events • Manages inventory and control of uniforms, supplies, and equipment • Develops annual budget proposals in collaboration with school administration • Collaborates with the VP of Advancement to pursue fundraising opportunities, sponsorships, and community partnerships to support the athletic program Communications & Community Relations • Collaborates with the Director of Communications and Marketing to maintain professional relationships with media sources for schedules, postponements, cancellations, statistics, and records • Oversees STVM athletics social media accounts in compliance with STVM Branding Standards; coordinates with the Director of Communications and Marketing per school guidelines • Works with the Director of Communications and Marketing to create materials to publicize athletic events in print and electronic formats, fostering awareness among students, staff, alumni, and the community • Serves as the school’s public face for athletics, representing STVM values at all community-facing events • Engages alumni, parents, and community members as partners in supporting the school’s athletic mission, consistent with the Marianist emphasis on family spirit Records, Safety & Compliance • Handles all accidents and injuries in accordance with school policies and applicable laws, including reporting and documentation requirements • Maintains records and documents for all athletic program activities, events, and participation • Files all required OHSAA and state forms by deadlines • Stays current with changing OHSAA rules, federal regulations, and best practices in school athletics • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal or President

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS • Prolonged standing and/or sitting during events and administrative duties • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds • Physically present and actively engaged at athletic competitions, including evenings and weekends throughout the school year
