St. Clare

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Part Time Bookkeeper to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions using industry-standard software for Multiple Companies. This role offers flexibility and an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our non-profit organizations. The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms.

Responsibilities • Manage and record financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite using Word, Excel, Publisher, etc. • Weekly or as needed bank deposit preparation and/or bank runs. • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data. • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP standards. • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently and accurately. • Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks as needed. • Support budgeting activities and financial report writing for management review. • Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. • Ensure compliance with applicable financial concepts and standards including double entry bookkeeping and governmental and diocesan accounting regulations when applicable. (Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of financials for Finance Councils and diocese.)

Qualifications • Minimum of Associate Degree or equivalent work experience, mathematics, bookkeeping and Principals of Accounting. • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite using Word, Excel, Publisher, etc. • Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries. • Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and financial report writing. • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management. • Tax Form familiarity and preparation such as 1099’s, W-2 G’s and 1096’s experience is a plus. • Ability to interpret financial concepts and perform technical accounting tasks accurately. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing and basic office skills necessary. • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support organizational financial goals. • Ability to successfully multi-task and return to task after interruption is a must. • Must be attentive to details and keep all work confidential and professional.
