POSITION TITLE: Building Substitute
REPORTS TO: Principal
Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational, college-preparatory institution dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual growth. Lake Catholic serves young men and women of diverse backgrounds and abilities throughout Northeast Ohio. With students in grades nine through twelve, our mission is to foster faith, learning, and service in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Job Duties:
- Effectively managing a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged.
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
- Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
- Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours.
- Maintain a positive learning environment.
- Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
- Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned (ie. Cafeteria Supervision).
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Must hold a valid teaching or substitute license, or be willing to obtain a substitute license
- License through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education.
- Familiarity with the teachings, traditions, and policies that apply to the formation and development of high school-aged youth.
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
