St. Anthony of Padua School - Parma
Classroom Aide – A part-time position (not to exceed 30 hours per week), 5 days per week that follows the school calendar.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: • Instructional Assistance: Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher. • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment, including arranging furniture and materials, and monitoring student behavior. • Clerical Support: Grade papers, track attendance, and prepare classroom materials. • Supervision: Monitor students in cafeteria, at recess, at mass, during arrival/dismissal, at specials classes, and on field trips or while out of the building. • Student Support: Help with walking students to the restroom and hand washing, help with clothing and shoe changing/tying, etc, as well as providing aid to substitute teachers. • Attend required meetings, open houses, in-service trainings and other similar events as requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with children and collaborate with teachers and staff. • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication for interacting with students, staff and reporting issues to teachers and administrative staff. • Flexibility: Adaptability to support different teacher and student needs. • Physical Mobility: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, use stairs, sit and stand from the floor without assistance, bend, kneel, move, push, pull or lift and actively engage with students. Must be able to react quickly. • Must be VIRTUS trained (or willing to become certified), and successfully complete a BCI/FBI background check.
