Job Description: St. Columbkille School is looking for a classroom aide position for our Little Knights program. The candidate will be asked to aid in providing a supportive, nurturing, and effective educational environment. They will help facilitate the instructional process, ensure the safety and well-being of students, and uphold the mission and values of St. Columbkille School.
Responsibilities: Assist in facilitating appropriate classroom management strategies, organization, and instructional activities. Help prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities. Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students. Work with the lead teacher in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe classroom environment. Monitor student behavior and assist in implementing behavior management plans. Offer emotional and social support to students, fostering a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
Administrative Tasks: Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and organizing classroom materials. Faith Integration: Support and participate in the spiritual life of the school. Model and promote Catholic values and teachings in interactions with students and staff. Encourage and guide students in their spiritual and moral development. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around the classroom and school campus. Ability to walk up multiple flights of stairs on a daily basis. Ability to supervise students during outdoor activities and in various weather conditions. Communicate effectively with parents and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree or higher. Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team. Understanding and commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Must pass background checks and complete necessary training. (e.g., Virtus training for child protection).
