Cleveland Central Catholic High School

Founded in 1969, Cleveland Central Catholic High School is a diocesan-owned, co-educational, comprehensive high school with a focus on college and career readiness, committed to leading young adults to Christ in an environment where they are learning to lead and preparing to serve. With a population of 430 students in grades nine through twelve, Cleveland Central Catholic High School provides young women and men with a nurturing and supportive educational environment in which to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.

As one of five schools owned and operated by the Diocese of Cleveland, Cleveland Central Catholic High School functions under a President/Principal model of school administration. The Principal is the school's chief academic officer, supported by one Assistant Principal and other staff, including deans of student life, guidance, athletics, and all faculty. The President serves as the chief of business operations, supported by the Director of Advancement, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Admissions, Director of Communications, and additional staff members responsible for alumni engagement, building maintenance, and advancement.

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and Cleveland Central Catholic High School are pleased to accept applications for the role of Director of Admissions.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Director of Admissions is to develop and execute strategies for the recruitment and registration of students at Cleveland Central Catholic High School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Admissions function in developing a professional and personalized recruitment strategy to engage prospective students and their families regularly and effectively from initial contact through orientation.
  • Lead the school’s admissions process in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations, and in partnership with all the members of the school community and specifically with the finance office. This includes processing all applications and following through with families to obtain all necessary documents including academic and immunization records, and State Scholarship application materials.
  • Plan and execute active outreach efforts to cultivate relationships with partner elementary schools, parishes, and other sources of prospective students.
  • Organize and lead activities such as prospective student testing and recruitment activities including tours, open houses, presentations at partner elementary schools, high school night presentations, and prospective student visiting programs as well as conceiving and implementing summer and other programs to engage prospective students.
  • Collect, analyze, and report pertinent data necessary for data-driven decisions and planning.
  • Organize, implement, and oversee school registration events and orientation events for new students during the summer and throughout the year.
  • Collect and prepare records, including all available admissions testing data, for appropriate faculty and staff for scheduling and placement purposes.
  • Work with members of the advancement and communications teams to develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications plan, including admissions electronic and print materials.
  • Prepare an annual budget for the Admissions Department.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President or his/her delegate

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Catholic teachings, values, and formation of students in Catholic schools. Ability to support the mission and values of the Catholic Church and align speech and behaviors with Catholic teachings and values.
  • Bachelor’s degree in student services or student development, education, administration, business management, marketing, or other relevant degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in leading/serving in educational administration, enrollment management, recruitment services, admissions, marketing, or other relevant division.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication knowledge and skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft or Google docs, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Demonstrated skill in preparing delivering small and large group presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and results, to include building successful and supportive relationships with parish and community partners, potential students, students’ families, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Success and continuous commitment to details and compliance related to admissions and requirements for incoming students.
  • Ability to setup, administer, and report results of admission testing to parents and school administration.
  • Experience in data research and data analysis toward designing project or program strategy.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment. Preferred but not required: bilingual in Spanish.
  • Reliable transportation for travel throughout Cuyahoga County and surrounding counties as needed.
  • Availability and ability to perform responsibilities during the day as well as nights and weekends as required
