Founded in 1947 by Monsignor Newton, Elyria Catholic is the only Catholic high school in Lorain County and the only coeducational Catholic high school on Cleveland’s far west side.

With strong enrollment and growing interest from prospective students and families, Elyria Catholic is thoughtfully planning new, flexible learning spaces to support enrollment growth while fostering collaboration, innovation, and student success.

As the school nears completion of its current five-year strategic plan, Elyria Catholic is moving forward with its Boldly EC campaign to strengthen academic programs, enhance campus facilities, and grow the endowment and the Panther Fund. Inspired by our past and investing in our future, Elyria Catholic continues to shape lives, grow saints, and build community.

The Director of Enrollment Management reports directly to the President and collaborates closely with the leadership team to advance Elyria Catholic’s mission, strategic priorities, and long-term vision.

Major Responsibilities:

Oversee the admissions process and recruitment efforts while also providing strategic leadership in several areas, including:

  • Long-term enrollment planning
  • Enrollment data and trend analysis
  • Strengthening relationships with partner schools and communities
  • Collaboration with marketing, advancement, and academic leadership
  • Ensuring a welcoming and coordinated experience for prospective families

Mission and Catholic Identity in Enrollment:

  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the mission of Elyria Catholic High School
  • Ensure that recruitment and admissions efforts reflect the school’s Catholic values and commitment to forming young adults who learn, worship, and serve
  • Help prospective families understand and appreciate the faith-centered culture of Elyria Catholic
  • Provide personalized support to prospective families from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, ensuring that each family feels known, welcomed, and valued throughout the admissions journey
  • Embrace enrollment leadership as ministry—walking alongside families as they discern an educational path rooted in faith, purpose, and belonging
  • Support efforts that strengthen the school’s identity as the Catholic high school serving Lorain County

Enrollment Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enrollment strategy
  • Monitor enrollment trends and application patterns
  • Provide enrollment projections and planning insights

Admissions Leadership:

  • Oversee recruitment efforts and the admissions process
  • Guide prospective families through the admissions journey
  • Coordinate admissions events, campus visits, and outreach initiatives

Relationship Building:

  • Strengthen relationships with partner schools, parishes, and community partners
  • Serve as an ambassador for Elyria Catholic in the broader community

Collaboration Across Departments:

  • Work closely with Marketing and Communications to strengthen outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to ensure program offerings support enrollment growth
  • Coordinate with Advancement on family engagement initiatives

Visibility and Community Engagement:

  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Elyria Catholic by attending and supporting school events such as athletic contests, performing arts and fine arts events, admissions programs, and key school gatherings
  • Maintain an active presence in the broader community, including Catholic elementary schools, partner schools, and parishes, to strengthen relationships and support outreach
  • The position requires a flexible schedule and frequent work outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends, in order to participate in school events, admissions programs, and community engagement opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a passion for sharing the values and traditions of the Catholic Church with prospective students and families.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, enrollment management, or school leadership, preferably in secondary Catholic education
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies
  • Experience using enrollment data to inform planning and decision-making
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
