POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Director of Marketing and Athletics
REPORTS TO: President
The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland was founded on April 23, 1847. Under the leadership of the Most Reverend Edward G. The Office of Catholic Education provides expertise, experience, and energy to lead and assist those who carry out the education ministries of the Diocese of Cleveland. In steadfast support of our over 40,000 students and their families, the Office works to ensure that each School can deliver strong, positive, vibrant Catholic education for continued growth in academic excellence and faith formation.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of Cleveland Central Catholic High School’s marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities. Oversees development and implementation of all support materials for the same.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish communications with faculty and staff regarding student, department, and event information.
- Provide form(s) to faculty/staff requesting information and a detailed description of upcoming events
involving CCC High School students and/or staff.
- Meet with the calendar coordinator to avoid conflicts in the usage of facilities.
- Attend Administrative weekly meetings to keep the team advised and be advised of events or event
- changes.
- Meet with individual administrators and department heads to receive information regarding their events and how events are best promoted and to whom.
- Establish and maintain a communicative relationship with local media.
- Provide to the press and website, information, photos, and video necessary to promote CCC student(s), staff member(s), or event(s)
- Create, implement, and evaluate Cleveland Central Catholic High School's marketing and communications strategy in collaboration with the President.
- Coordinate and set up press conferences. Have press releases and photos prepared for reporters and/or broadcasters. Meet with students (and parents if deemed necessary) and/or staff members prior to press interviews or conferences. Discuss the “dos & don’ts” in representing the best interests of individuals and CCC.
- Publications
- Advancement & Alumni: work with the Advancement Director and Special Events to schedule and organize publications.
- Athletic Program: Work with the Athletic Director to schedule photo sessions and organize necessary information for the athletic programs.
- Perform all duties and tasks as may be required by the President and Principal.
- Create, implement, and evaluate strategies that lead to improving the branding and reputation of CCC.
- Provide and verify all reporting data related to the marketing of CCC.
- Manage logistics needed for activities related to marketing campaigns and/or appeals.
- Prepare solicitation materials related to the admissions campaign.
- Participate in any special event planning and implementation activities.
- Actively participate as a member of the Advancement Team as a member of the Advancement Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations or business.
- Familiarity with the teachings, traditions, and values of the Catholic Church, formation, and Catholic
- Education. Enthusiasm to uphold those teachings, traditions, and values.
- Ability to strongly support the mission of Cleveland Central Catholic High School
- Excellent communication skills. Expertise and experience in social media and marketing, and opportunities for engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in different stages of progress toward meeting deadlines.
- Ability to engage, lead, and motivate.
- Expertise in responding to phone, email, text, video, and social media inquiries from internal and external sources related to communications and marketing of CCC.
- Present a high level of professionalism, poise, sensitivity, and support in a variety of situations.
