DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND COMMUNICATIONS (Full-Time or Part-Time) Church of the Resurrection, a Roman Catholic parish of approximately 1,100 families in Solon, Ohio, is seeking a Director of Music and Communications. This position may be structured as full-time or part-time, depending on the qualifications and availability of the candidate. At this time, the parish’s primary and immediate need is for leadership of the Music Ministry, with communications and technology responsibilities adjusted accordingly for a part-time role. Founded in 1971 in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, Church of the Resurrection is a welcoming and inclusive parish community that values vibrant, prayerful worship.

Music Ministry Responsibilities (Priority Area) • Provide keyboard accompaniment and musical direction for the congregation, choirs, cantors, and instrumentalists at all liturgies, including Saturday 5:00 pm Vigil, Sunday 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses, Holy Days, Solemnities, Feasts, Funerals, Weddings, Taizé services, Communal Reconciliation Services, PSR, and other prayer services throughout the year. • Plan and prepare all liturgical music and worship aids, incorporating both traditional and contemporary repertoire. The parish uses Gather (4th edition, GIA Publications), with an emphasis on Eucharist, unity, justice, and care for creation. • Recruit, rehearse, and support members of the parish music ministries, fostering strong communication and community. Current ensembles include General Music Ministry, Chorale, Youth Music Ministry, Resurrection Funeral Choir, Cantors, and Instrumentalists. • Manage the Music Ministry budget and music library, including music purchasing, licensing, subscriptions, instruments, and sound systems. Ensure proper reporting of reprinted and livestreamed music through OneLicense. • Coordinate and manage the annual Music in a Sacred Space concert series, including 3–4 indoor concerts and 1–2 outdoor concerts annually. Responsibilities include fundraising, donor cultivation, contracting performers, publicity, program production, hospitality, and volunteer coordination. • Participate actively in parish life through regular meetings (staff, Worship Commission, etc.) and collaboration with the pastor, staff, and parishioners.

Technology / Communications Responsibilities (Scope adjusted if position is part-time) • Manage livestreaming of liturgies and parish events, including equipment maintenance, scheduling, volunteer training, and analytics. • Collaborate with the Business Manager, Receptionist, and Pastoral Staff to manage parish communications across print and digital platforms, ensuring consistent branding and messaging (bulletin, website, email, social media, parish app, etc.).

Job Requirements Music • Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, Music Education, Liturgical Music, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). • Proficiency in piano (Baldwin baby grand) and organ (Wicks hybrid), with the ability to lead congregational singing while playing. • Knowledge of and experience with Roman Catholic liturgy. Communications / Technology • Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Suite, including Publisher. • Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools (preferred). • Experience maintaining parish websites. • Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook Business Suite, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter). • Experience with or willingness to learn parish communication tools such as LPI Parish App, MailChimp, and SignUpGenius. • Audio and video editing experience (a plus).

Compensation & Benefits This position may be full-time or part-time. • Full-time positions include diocesan benefits (health, dental, vision), pension plan, paid vacation and sick leave, and continuing education stipend. • Part-time positions offer competitive compensation based on scope of responsibilities. • Salary is commensurate with experience.
