Incarnate Word Academy, located at 6620 Pearl Road in Parma Heights, is a Premier Independent Catholic School serving a diverse group of young learners from Preschool to 8th grade. Our school calendar includes end of the quarter teacher work days, and a beginning and mid-year faculty retreat. We have 2 homerooms per grade level in K-8 and three homerooms in preschool, with class sizes intentionally kept small to accommodate the learning needs of all students. We are seeking candidates for a Director of Preschool/Lead Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Candidates should conduct themselves in a manner that is compatible with and supportive of the teachings and mission of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word, the Diocese of Cleveland, and the Roman Catholic Church.

DIRECTOR OF PRESCHOOL/LEAD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee daily school operations and ensure licensing compliance • Schedules and leads weekly level meetings with preschool teachers • Schedules and leads weekly lesson plan meetings with preschool teachers to ensure that all classrooms are following diocesan curriculum • Attend Diocesan preschool events throughout the year such as retreats and professional development • Lead, mentor, and inspire teaching staff • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment • Manage enrollment, tours, and community outreach throughout the entire calendar year • Plan and facilitate special Kinder Prep events throughout the year: Back to School Night, Welcome Back Family event in August, Kinder Prep and Kindergarten Open House, Preview Day, and Graduation • Maintain social media, posting a minimum of one time per day throughout the school week • Build strong relationships with preschool faculty/staff and families • Collaborate with the President and/or Director of Finance to review the yearly budget
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred • 2+ years of leadership experience in a preschool or childcare setting • Strong knowledge of state licensing requirements • Exceptional organizational and communication skills • VIRTUS Trained (or willingness to be VIRTUS trained) The salary is range is listed below; however, we will commensurate with experience.
