St. Michael Evangelization Minister Reports To: Pastor Position Type: Full-time; Pastoral non-exempt Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 plus benefits
Position Summary The Evangelization Minister will be in charge of helping to spread the Gospel at St. Michael Parish. The EM will be responsible for reaching out to new people, for helping to deepen the faith of parishioners as part of the New Evangelization, and for creatively finding new ways to spread the the Good news of Jesus Christ.
Qualifications Fully initiated practicing Catholic, who attends Sunday Mass weekly. A love of the Church. Strong personal prayer life and ability to lead prayer. Ability to build relationships. A Knowledge of Catholic teaching. A willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to use technology (social media, Canva, and editing for podcasts) Organized and has an attention to detail. Ability to manage one’s time.
Core Responsibilities Produce and lay out the weekly Parish bulletin. Manage the Parish Social Media accounts and post at least three times a week. Work with the pastor on a regular podcast. Meet with new parishioners and work to intake them. Lead and facilitate the Parish OCIA. Put on a welcome event for new families once or twice a year. When working in office, this person will be the backup answerer on the phones and will assist with the door. Having a presence during some weekend Masses to build relationships. Pitching new ideas to the pastor and parish staff of how to better engage the hearts and minds of people. Be an active member of Parish Staff and go to meetings. Be an active member of Parish Council and help the pastor to lead these meetings.
