Fifth and Sixth Grade Religion Teacher: St. Charles Borromeo School

Position Title: Religion Teacher (Grades 5–6) Location: Saint Charles Borromeo Parish School Reports To: Principal

Position Overview Saint Charles Borromeo Parish School is seeking a faith-filled, engaging Religion Teacher for grades five and six. This educator will play a vital role in forming young disciples by helping students grow in their knowledge of the Catholic faith and their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Key Responsibilities • Design and deliver meaningful religion instruction aligned with diocesan standards • Foster a classroom culture grounded in faith, respect, and active discipleship • Guide students in understanding Scripture, Church teaching, and moral decision-making • Integrate prayer, reflection, and Catholic identity into daily classroom life • Support and participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and sacramental preparation as appropriate • Collaborate with faculty to strengthen the Catholic mission across the curriculum • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth in faith and learning

Qualifications • Practicing Catholic in good standing • Basic Catechist Certification or working toward Certification (required) • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, or a related field (preferred) • Teaching experience with upper elementary or middle school students (preferred) • Basic understanding of Theology of the Body (preferred) Required Clearances • Current VIRTUS certification (or willingness to participate in process) • Successful FBI and BCI & I fingerprint background checks Desired Qualities • Ability to connect with and inspire students in grades 5–6 • Strong classroom management and communication skills • Passion for Catholic education and evangelization • Collaborative, positive presence within the school community
