French/Spanish Teacher Position (Grades 9-12) (Long-term Sub)
Position Description: French - long term sub to cover medical leave for part-time French/Spanish teacher: *French 1 and French 2 and Honors Spanish 2
Reports to: Language Acquisition Department Chair, Dean of Academics, Principal

Duties: ● Teaches full-time, including 3 periods (65-minutes on a rotating schedule) ● Follows course objectives of the St. Edward curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate’s MYP and DP standards ● Works collaboratively with fellow teachers to design and deliver authentic instruction and assessment of French skills ● Maintains classroom control and pupil behavior allowing everyone the opportunity to learn ● Works directly with team teachers to provides assistance and support for struggling students in the second language area ● Communicates with counselors, learning professionals, parents and students to maintain a positive learning experience and identify any problems or difficulties ● Communicates with parents and students by posting lesson plans and grades on a regular basis based on contract specifications ● Maintains flexible hours within contract specifications, providing time before or after school for additional help, individualized instruction, mentoring or guidance in independent projects
Qualifications: ● State of Ohio license in French/Spanish or non-tax teaching certificate ● Spoken and written fluency in French and Spanish ● Bachelor’s degree in a related field. ● Proven teaching or instructional experience
