Full-time Physical Education Teacher: Holy Family School in Stow is a K–8 school experiencing continued enrollment growth, prompting the expansion of several grade-level classrooms. Position Overview: This is for a full-time Physical Education Teacher who will design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The teacher will create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages students to develop healthy habits, personal growth, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities: ● Develop and deliver an age-appropriate physical education curriculum aligned with school standards. ● Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions among students. ● Assess student progress and provide feedback to support skill development and physical fitness. ● Maintain a safe, organized, and motivating environment for all students. ● Create a learning environment that is safe and nurturing. ● Confer with parents/guardians, co-teachers, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral or academic needs. ● Supervise students during lessons and other times as scheduled. ● Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate physical education with broader school initiatives. ● Attend and participate in staff meetings, extra-curricular activities, and committees. ● Perform duties assigned by the school administration, for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field. ● Valid Ohio teaching license ● VIRTUS trained or willing to obtain ● Ability to successfully pass a BCI & FBI background check ● Hold or be willing to obtain proper religious certification through the Diocese of Cleveland. ● Strong knowledge of fitness, health, and sports education. ● Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. ● Strong commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
