MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES -Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that support the social, emotional, spiritual, and academic growth of preschool students. -Provide a nurturing and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. -Incorporate Catholic faith-based values and age-appropriate religious instruction into daily activities consistent with the mission of Holy Trinity School. -Show written evidence of preparation and adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of young children. -Assess student progress through observation and age-appropriate evaluation methods, using results to guide instruction. -Foster positive relationships with students through encouragement, guidance, and consistent classroom routines. -Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians through conferences, updates, and ongoing collaboration per school guidelines. -Collaborate effectively with preschool staff, grade level teachers, and administration to support school-wide goals and student development. -Uphold professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. -Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance early childhood education practices. -Attend faculty meetings and participate actively in school committees and events. -Demonstrate consistent attendance to maintain a focus on student learning. -Take responsibility for covering morning care one day per week, before the preschool day starts.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Education/Certification/Experience: Must hold an Ohio state teaching license appropriate for early childhood education or preschool instruction.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: -In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and effective instructional strategies for preschool learners. -Ability to create engaging learning experiences through play-based and hands-on activities. -Strong skills in communication, organization, patience, creativity, and flexibility. -Ability to manage classroom routines, support positive behavior, and foster a caring learning environment. -Proficient in using educational resources and technology appropriate for early childhood learning. -Commitment to supporting the spiritual formation and faith development of young children in a Catholic school setting.
