Health Teacher: Walsh Jesuit High School

Health Teacher

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic teacher looking for a full-time opportunity to teach health to high school students five days per week.

Major Responsibilities:

1. nstructional Design & Delivery

Teach the curriculum reflecting knowledge of the subject matter (subject matter expert) and the specific learning styles of the students

Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts

Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions or activities

Compile, evaluate and/or grade students’ class work reflecting learning styles of students

Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of curricula, course materials and methods of instruction

Utilize up-to-date technology in lesson plans and classroom management

2. Classroom & Student Management

Manage the classroom to ensure successful learning for every student

Maintain contact with students and parents with effective and regular communication

3. Professional Growth & Content Expertise

Maintain expertise in the field through ongoing professional development demonstrating a commitment to the field of study and knowledge of diverse learning styles

4. Faith Formation

Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation

Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled

Core Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or post graduate work in a related field
• Valid Ohio teaching license for 7-12 grade health
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding technology in curriculum design and classroom presentation
• Experience in Catholic learning environment preferred
• Commitment to Jesuit values and faith-based student formation
• Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life

Compensation and Benefits

Walsh Jesuit is a wonderful community and, as a full-time employee, the Health teacher will be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance immediately upon employment.
