About the Position: Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an exceptional full-time Health and Physical Education teacher beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. This position will include planning and teaching Health and Physical Education courses and leading one student advisory. Depending on the candidate's professional experience, the opportunity to coach or lead additional co-curricular activities is possible. The preferred candidate will have experience teaching Health and/or Physical Education at the high school level and a willingness to participate in the extracurricular and faith formation life of the school. Primary Areas of Responsibility: Plan and teach a full load of Health and/or Physical Education courses, including the possibility of elective courses. Guide high-impact, college-preparatory learning activities that align with school standards and mission. Create and maintain a learning environment with fair and consistent standards — including content, assessments, interpersonal relationships, and positive student behavior. Serve as an advisor to a group of students. Participate in the extracurricular life of the school through coaching, moderating a student club, or another activity of choice. Participate in the mission life of the school by attending student retreats, leading prayer experiences or mission trips, and engaging in service or justice experiences.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field. Experience teaching Health and/or Physical Education in a high school setting. Familiarity with college preparatory Catholic, Jesuit education is a plus. Current Ohio teaching license in Health and Physical Education, or eligibility to obtain. Red Cross Instructor Certified, or ability to obtain. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Personally A strong commitment to the values of Catholic, Jesuit education. About Saint Ignatius High School: Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,400 young men who hail from 96 cities in a nine-county region. Academically, Saint Ignatius is a regional and state leader in National Merit finalists. To challenge students and prepare them for college, the Saint Ignatius curriculum offers 21 Advanced Placement (AP) and 32 honors courses. In September 2009, the school was designated a Blue Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education.
