Housekeeper: St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish

St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Avon Job Description - Housekeeper Part Time position Seeking a part time Housekeeper to ensure a clean, safe and inviting environment for both guests and residents of the parish Rectory. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, cleaning, organizing and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the rectory. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for cleanliness of all assigned areas of the rectory including bathrooms, kitchens, guest rooms, bedrooms and common areas Dust all surfaces, furniture, windows, door frames and baseboards Vacuum and mop floors to maintain cleanliness Change and launder towels, house linens and bed linens as needed Restock and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and household paper products Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment Ensure safe and proper use of cleaning equipment Provide excellent customer service to guests and residents Report and return any guest properties found during service Report maintenance issues, property damage or safety hazards to supervisor Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent and higher education experience preferred One or more years of housekeeping experience Some understanding of the interaction among Priests/Clergy Solid understanding of housekeeping standards and practices Church or non-profit experience preferred Practicing Roman Catholic Respect for the mission and values of the Catholic Church References Required Fingerprinting and Background Check required Physical Requirements / Work Experience To perform this job successfully, the individual may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear/listen, reach, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate household cleaning and maintenance equipment such as a vacuum cleaner, duster equipment and mops. Good vision and excellent communication skill requirements apply due to the nature of housekeeping work. Able to carry materials as needed weighing up to 30 lbs and able to maneuver up and down the stairs with ease. 3-4 days/week, maximum of 20 hours per week.
