St. Mary Parish – Chardon
Janitorial/Housekeeping Staff Part-time Non-exempt Janitorial/Housekeeping position at St. Mary Parish in Chardon Basic Function: Under the direction of the Pastor and Facilities Manager, assist with the cleaning, tear down and setup needs of St. Mary Parish and School. The position hours would be between 1-6 pm Monday through Friday depending on needs, with occasional weekend availability for setup and tear down. 15-25 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Clean and reset cafeteria after school lunch. Would need to use the floor scrubbing machine. Take garbage out to dumpsters. Vacuum and dust church and school offices. Clean school and church office bathrooms. Dust mop gym floor daily. Use the floor scrubber on the gym floor weekly. Set up and tear down the Banquet Room and meeting rooms for events. Clean school classrooms as needed. Work well with others and be flexible. Perform other duties in keeping with the position as necessary.
Requirements: Must be able to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Cleveland in performing all responsibilities of this role. Combination of education and experience normally represented by a high school Diploma. Must be able to provide transportation to and from work. Ensure all duties are accomplished using safe work habits and provide for the safety of other personnel while performing duties. Demonstrate professional and appropriate values and behavior to the staff, families, and students of St. Mary Parish and St. Mary School. Ability to be flexible to handle multiple tasks at one time. Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds. Must complete VIRTUS certification and fingerprinting/BCI compliance upon hire and enroll in the State Rapback Program.
